Solomon’s Grandma and Grandpa got him a pool! He loved splashing in the water. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

*First*

Friends,

I love the Sonics.

Is it strange for me to be OK with the team’s move to Oklahoma City only because the city of Seattle gets to keep the Sonics’ name, the gold and green, and the Sonics’?

Of course Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and the like, have a tremendous upsides and their fans have great things to look forward too, but there is a big part of me that thinks OKC got hoodwinked.  Bottomline: they got a 20-62 team.  (Am I THAT weird?)

Maybe its cause I’m an “old-timer” and when I think of the Supersonics I think of the 1996 finals, Payton to Kemp from anywhere on the court, Detlef’s flat top and Big Smooths sleepy-eyed, flat-footed three point shot.  Not necessarily these youngters on the squad right now.  No offense, it would have been cool to see them rise up to be a playoff caliber, but as long as Seattle has a team called the SuperSonics in five years,  I’m ok with Clay Bennet swiping out these players and the Sonics starting over.

Listen,  if some dude in Nebraska purchased the Bulls organization, relocated them to Omaha, named them the Omaha Combines and changed their colors to fucshia and green, yes, the city of Chicago would be devastated.  But, if five years later, Chicago got another team to call the Bulls that still wore the red and white and played in the United Center, I don’t think MJ and the rest of the Bulls’ legacy would move an inch.  It would still reside right in the heart of Chicago.

The same goes for the Sonics.  This squad is going to move to OKC, but the Sonics will be back in action soon!  Till then, we can cheer for Seattle native Brandon Roy, former coach Mac-10 (That’s Nate McMillan for you PDX fans that didn’t know him as a player) and gimpy Greg Oden until the Sonics come back.

Don’t worry, we still have the Sonics!

He’s browning.

As many of you have already read, Brian Rush asked me to document his beard removal.  Well, the set is finished … but before you do that, I just wanted to let y’all know that I’ve started a blog strictly dedicated to photography.  Honestly, I started feeling guilty that I was posting my photography and not photos of Solomon. :)

Anyways, to check out Brian’s set click on over to the Photoblog!

This is my dad.  He is a hero… and he goes by “Mr. Wonderful.”

That's my dad.

To be clear… he gave himself that nickname.

After two weeks that consisted of “The Rhea,” a fever (of 103 degrees) and rashes, Solomon looks to be back to his old “sexy” self.

Click here if you don’t know what he’s doing.

“Roseola (also known as sixth disease, exanthem subitum, and roseola infantum) is a viral illness in young children, most commonly affecting those between the ages of 6 months and 2 years. It is typically marked by several days of high fever, followed by a distinctive rash just as the fever breaks.”

That’s what Solomon has right now.  Poor boy.

We’re documenting my friend Brian’s process of shaving of his montrous beard.

This is step 3 of 3, so far.

I realize that I’ve been posting strictly photography-themed posts lately, but don’t worry you’ll see Solomon’s face again soon. ;)

Step 3

As a photographer that shares virtually all my work online, I (naively) figured people were seeing what I was seeing.

Silly me.

I loaded my most recent photos (of Benji, see below) onto my Flickr account and noticed that the colors in my uploaded work was not as vibrant as the images I had edited. I am a Firefox user, so I checked out the same images on Safari and low and behold (what does that phrase “low and behold” even mean?!), Safari hosted the images exactly as I had edited them. Check it out…

Firefox

Safari

Crazy!

So now ya know… if you want to see my photos just as I post-produce’em look at them through Safari… unless they look better in Firefox. ;)

Question… what do YOU use? Firefox? Safari? IE?

Yesterday we jumped in the car and trekked over to the Hanson’s to take some photos of lil’ Benji. He was a stud and here’s the pics to prove it! :)
